I was first licensed as a Novice in 1964, then upgraded to General about six months later. In 1985 I upgraded my license to Extra, and my station to cover HF, VHF and UHF. My main interest has always been HF, and I chase DX in a casual sort of way. Back in the day I ran a lot of phone patches for deployed personnel, including some in Antarctica.
